Pioneering the electric vehicle revolution, Poland has earned the distinguished title of being Europe’s leading EV battery producer, and the second-largest globally, with a comprehensive supply chain in place. An extraordinary feat, Poland has witnessed a staggering 3800% surge in exports of EV batteries over the last five years, transitioning from a remarkable 1 billion EUR in export value in 2017 to an astounding 38 billion EUR in 2022. These figures underscore Poland’s unwavering commitment to mobility innovation and excellence in EV battery-related products.

Their biggest R&D centre in Europe is based in Gdańsk and focuses on AI and data processing solutions that are further implemented in ADAS in premium cars. The centre is reaching 4000 FTEs.

Northvolt

Peter Carlsson’s top European battery producer has finished construction of its highly automated factory for battery systems assembly in Gdańsk. Alongside the factory, an engineering R&D centre formation is ongoing. Total employment will reach 500 FTEs.

Global Logic

A leader in the field of software engineering services. The company employs over 120 engineers developing the latest solutions in the fields of embedded systems development, cybersecurity, IoT and communication. ADAS is and e-mobility innovations are an important area of research for the new branch.

Aptiv

In Gdańsk, the mobility architecture global leader develops advanced electronics for ADAS implemented in premium car brands, including cameras and overhead panels. The manufacturing facility employs over 1000 FTEs.

Eaton

The 1000 FTEs manufacturing site in Tczew originally concentrated on gear boxes, superchargers and differentials. Now the company introduced new production lines that are supplying top EV producers with converters, inverters and energy distribution units.

ThyssenKrupp Automation Engineering

ThyssenKrupp Automation Engineering is a system partner for the automotive and battery industry. The just-launched Gdańsk site will produce machines and assembly systems for drive systems in the e-Mobility area.

An engineering centre is the biggest company’s office in Poland with a total employment of over 1000 FTEs. The scope of activities includes active and passive safety, infotainment and communication systems, body control units, ADAS or battery management systems.

Flex is delivering advanced electronics solution including mobile telecom infrastructure with 5G technology as well as chargers for EVs.

Nippon Seiki Group

A world leader in the design, development and manufacture of Driver Information Display systems – has been operating in Gdańsk since 2018. 100 engineers employed in the technology centre deal with the creation of specs and design, as well as the development and testing of software for on-board information systems.
